This project enabled me to engage with design as a reflective practice through applied workbooks and project documents. UX Product Design
Research & Exploration of Human-Centred Design
Creative Design
Packaging Design
Finished Artwork

This project developed my understanding of how people interact with packaging with a focus on the human-centred design context. I developed a packaging solution that responded to a previous user need that was not being met. My approach focused on accessibility and iterative processes using applied research and exploration. I’ve included my rationale report to demonstrate my thought process with identifying a user problem and how I went at exploring and solving the problem. This project is an example of not only solving the practical issues of a product, but also connecting a user through thoughtful design and stories.

Design & implement a functioning website on multiple platforms. Studying Web Design familiarised me with the web design process. I learned how to design a website for different applications through design principles such as information design and typography. I built Melbourne Fashion Memoirs using Adobe Muse. For this project I have included my Planning Document to demonstrate my thinking and processes behind the concept and design.

Photography

  • “When in Brooklyn” was a project with strong personal significance. I had just returned from an extended trip to New York and was deeply missing the city, determined that I would one day return to live there. To keep that ambition front of mind, much of my work at the time was inspired by the city.

For this project, I photographed a bottle of Brooklyn Lager. As a backdrop, I used a photograph I had taken of lights while sitting in a beer garden in Brooklyn, layering my own imagery to create a visual connection to the place that had inspired the work.

  • I wanted to capture an image that reflected the devastating impact and consequences of climate change on the planet. Choosing “Reckoner” by Radiohead for the cover felt fitting, as the song evokes a sense of impending reckoning or environmental collapse. It also felt like a natural choice given Radiohead’s longstanding association with themes of environmental awareness.
